A Statehood Day Celebration. Celebrate the 171st anniversary of Michigan’s entry into the Union at the Michigan Historical Museum in downtown Lansing, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, January 26, 2008. This year’s celebration is titled “Proud of the Past, Positive about the Future.” Tour the museum galleries to learn more about Michigan, its citizens and their accomplishments. You will enjoy presenters, costumed interpreters, musical performances and hands-on activities highlighting Michigan milestones.
