Gotta Dance of Waterford announces winter class offerings

Preschool Music
Music appreciation for your 4-5 yr old who is not yet doing formal schoolwork. This class is great for those who do not yet know their letters or numbers or need a small class size to feel more comfortable. You will focus on experiencing music and appreciating differences. Foreign language songs, instrument exploration and introduction to the masters is just part of the fun. Class is limited to 4 students and meets weekly for 30 minutes. Winter session lasts 10 weeks.
Class begins Monday January 12th at 11am.

Preschool Dance
Dance along to fun music with a group of friends. This class is for your 4-5 yr old who can’t sit still. Learn basic dance moves to a large selection of music styles while practicing following directions and working in a group setting. Fall session will include a few basic ballet moves and winter session will add in tap moves over the last 4 weeks; dance shoes not required. Class is limited to 6 students and meets weekly for 30 minutes. Winter session lasts 10 weeks.
Class begins Monday January 12th at 11:30am.

Little Stars
Sing and dance up on stage! This class is for your performer who craves attention and shines on stage. This class is for 5-9yr olds of any skill level. You will work together to put on a fun show for our families. The amount of singing, dancing and acting in each show will depend upon the abilities and preferences of the students enrolled. Currently she has two folk tale scripts prepared to choose from, and adaptations will be made as needed for each child to get a chance to shine. Similar to her Performing Arts class at Faith co-op, each session is 6 weeks of class time plus two shows. Class is limited to 6-8 students and meets weekly for 30 minutes.
Class begins Thursday January 14th at 11am.

Intro to Ballet
Basic ballet for 6-8 yr olds. Includes warm up, barre work and floor exercises to both modern and classical music. No recital, no dress code, no pressure. Class is limited to 8 students and meets weekly for 30 minutes. Winter session lasts 10 weeks.
Class begins Monday, January 12th at 10:30am or Thursday January 14th at 10:30am ($5 discount for students who enroll in both classes).

Beginning Ballet
Basic ballet for 9+yr olds. Includes warm up, barre work and floor exercises to both modern and classical music. No recital, no dress code, no pressure, just technical excellence and fun. Class is limited to 6 students and meets weekly for 30 minutes. Winter session lasts 10 weeks.
Class begins Monday January 12th at 10am or Thursday January 14th at 10am ($5 discount for students who enroll in both classes).

Music History One
Grades 3-8. Move ahead in your music education with age appropriate music history lessons. Music History One will teach European music of the Baroque, Classical and Romantic Eras. Composers, instruments and musical styles will be covered through both lecture and listening examples. Homework and weekly quizzes will add to student retention. Class is limited to 6 students and meets weekly for 30 minutes. Each session lasts 8 weeks.
Class begins TUESDAY January 20th at 1:15pm.

Ballet Boot Camp
Intensive ballet training for 9-14 yr olds. Prepare to join a studio class, improve your basic skills or just dance for fun. Learn proper terminology and combinations. Class meets weekly for 45 minutes and is limited to 3-5 students per session. Each session lasts 6 weeks.
Time and Day TBD based on enrollment.

By Request: Mother and Daughter Ballet Boot Camp
Spend time together and enjoy learning something new! Learn alongside your daughters and build your relationship. Class follows Ballet Boot Camp schedule and is limited to 2-3 moms and their daughters per session. Each session lasts 6 weeks.

Day and Time
Homeschool dance classes will be offered on Monday and Thursday mornings in Waterford. Music History is offered on Tuesday afternoons only. If you would like to see one of her classes taught in your location (home or church) on a different day or at your co-op, please contact her for information about hosting a class. Private music theory and dance instruction is also available, just ask!

Prices
Each class is being offered at $35 for Winter classes. In the past Jo Anne’s dance classes were $4.50 per 30 minutes class and music and baton classes were $5 per 30 minute class. Everyone is struggling so she am lowering prices across the board, and siblings still get $10 off for the second child and your third child per class is free! Pay Pal, cash and checks accepted.
