    4-H Discovery Day

    Oakland County Fair Discovery Days 4-H Discovery Day is Saturday May 5, 2012 (usually from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm) at the Oakland County Fair Grounds. Come and see many of the 4-H clubs available in our area. 4-H Discovery Day is an opportunity to discover education through hands on learning activities. Some activities may require a small fee to cover the cost of supplies.     4-H Fiesta Fundraiser February 25, 2012 Come join in for a fun filled evening with all you can eat taco’s, nacho’s and ice cream bar! Dinner served 5:30-7:00 pm. Silent auction, 50/50 raffles, games, live animals & more! Silent auction bidding closes between 7:15-8:45 pm. Don’t miss out on this fabulous evening! All proceeds raised will go to their premium account to help replace premium money lost to their exhibitors by state budget cuts. Admission/Dinner is $8.00 per person, children under 5 are free.     Oakland County Fair volunteers needed

    It’s that time of year again…Oakland County Fair is coming and we need volunteers! What we especially need are judges for the exhibit hall where local 4-H kids will be bringing projects of all kinds. Projects range from photography to rockets to creative writing to performing arts to crafts to drawings and painting. The list of projects is almost endless. If you have an area of expertise and are willing to commit to one Saturday in July for judging and one hour and half training session before hand, let me know! Judges will be fed well on the day of judging and will also receive a parking pass to attend…

    Class Act 4-H – 10 Nights in a Barroom

    Class Act 4-H Drama Club production Our latest production: A turn-of-the-century, temperance-era, musical melodrama! Oddly titled: 10 Nights in a Barroom So, what is it? This is a typical melodrama with an evil villain (remember Snidely Whiplash?), an innocent maiden (saved from the clutches of the villain just in time), a dance hall girl with a heart of gold who turns to good, a strong brave hero who rescues the damsel in distress, and lots more. The play tells the story of what happens when there is a “Tavern in the Town”! (one of the fun songs they sing!) The songs are authentic songs from the 1930’s when this play…

    Class Act 4-H Drama Club production John Lennon and Me by Cherie Bennet. A comedy/drama. Directing, acting, costumes, music, sets and props are done by many of our local homeschool students. Come and see a fabulous production. When: Saturday, December 6, 2003 – 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. & Sunday, December 7, 2003 – 2:00 p.m. Where: Rochester College in Rochester Hills, MI – 800 E. Avon Road, between Rochester Rd. and Livernois Rd. Ages: Appropriate for ages 10 and up…..more or less. Though it does so in a humorous manner, it does deal with life threatening illness and death.
