OHMI Spring Concerts
OHMI (Oakland Homeschool Music) Waterford Branch will be presenting their 9th annual Spring Concert “Music for May” next Monday, May 23rd, 2011 at 7:00pm at Clarkston Community Church. All of the students – Elementary Music, Guitar, Young Strings, Choirs, Bands, and Orchestras, will be performing with a reception following. Need directions? Join other homeschoolers for Homeschool Ice Skate at Lakeland Ice Arena in Waterford on the first Friday of the month from 12:00pm – 2:00pm. OHMI – Summer Musical Theatre Class – Hello Dolly! We had such fun last year doing Pirates of Penzance we’re doing another class! What: an 8 week, 3 times/week class (until tech weeks) to teach students musical theatre, including acting, singing, character exploration, choreography, costuming, stage presence, pit orchestra, technical aspects, etc. This year’s show will be Hello Dolly!, a witty and very entertaining story about Dolly Levi, a widow who helps arrange things for the citizens of Yonkers, NY. Gotta Dance of Waterford Winter Classes
Gotta Dance of Waterford announces winter class offerings Preschool Music Music appreciation for your 4-5 yr old who is not yet doing formal schoolwork. This class is great for those who do not yet know their letters or numbers or need a small class size to feel more comfortable. You will focus on experiencing music and appreciating differences. Foreign language songs, instrument exploration and introduction to the masters is just part of the fun. Class is limited to 4 students and meets weekly for 30 minutes. Winter session lasts 10 weeks. Oakland Homeschool Music is accepting new students for mid-year enrollment in all classes except for Beginning Band & Orchestra, Guitar & Young Strings (unless the student has previous experience). Classes start up again January 5 & 6th, so let us know right away if you are interested in enrolling your students. We have a complete K – 12 music program. We have 2 branches – one in Waterford, and one in Troy.
