The “Abraham Lincoln: Self-Made In America” Bicentennial Tour a mobile museum exhibit was developed by the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) in Springfield, Illinois. The exhibit is free of charge to the public and will travel the United States over the next two years inspiring visitors with the story of Lincoln’s life and accomplishments. Greenfield Village Field Trip May 31

Kathy Dutton dkdutton@sbcglobal.net has planned a field trip to Greenfield Village open to all homeschoolers, 20900 Oakwood Blvd., Dearborn, on Monday June 6, 2011. Ticket prices are $8.00 per person (regular prices are $16.00 for children 5-12 years and $22 for adults, to get the discounted price she needs at least 10 people purchasing tickets). They will meet at the entrance at 9:30 am.

To receive this price reservations are required and they need to purchase the tickets together, therefore it is necessary they all arrive on time! Village hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. If the extended forecast is a nasty, rainy day – she can either change the date or go to the Henry Ford Museum. They will make that decision by noon on Friday June 3.

Reservation deadline Tuesday May 31, 2011 (number of adult and number of children attending). Please e-mail your reservation to Kathy at dkdutton@sbcglobal.net.

If you would like to connect this field trip to curriculum, you can visit their web site at http://www.thehenryford.org/education/topics.aspx for ideas, worksheets, etc.

If you would like to just learn more about what is at the village you can visit their web site at http://www.thehenryford.org/village/index.aspx
