Fall Planning Meeting

Fall Planning Meeting is August 7, 2008, 12:00pm, at Grace Hills Church.
Let April know if you can make it.
There is lots of room for involvement.

We have more planning and details to include and anyone interested in planning and helping is more than welcome!
This isn’t exactly a co-op but we are also not interested in running the show, please let April know how you can help.
Nothing is set in stone so ideas are welcome.

Specific details and costs are yet to be determined. Just know that our goal is to keep the costs as reasonable as possible. In most cases, the cost will be just to cover materials and building use fee.

REACH 4-H will have a new time to accommodate our activities. They will meet from 1:30-3:00. It looks like we’ll have two class times each week for the fall; with science divided into two classes, one for older kids, one for younger. This is the schedule she worked out based on our discussion. She’s created a week or two between classes for breathing room. And of course, Thanksgiving through New Years off.

Thursday, September 4 – Not back to school picnic/4-H registration/Mr. Physics

Thursdays, September 11, 18, 25, October 2, 9, 16, – Learning about the election process (this will, of course, be bi-partisan) 12:00-1:15 for all ages, Physics 1:30-3:30 Highschool, Chemistry/grossology/etc. elementary/jr. high (no science on October 2 due to REACH 4-H)

October 2 – REACH 4-H

November’s REACH could probably incorporate our theme for the rest of the month…maybe cooking international foods to get kids interested?

Thursdays, November 6, 13, & 20 – Geography/Cultural Studies 12:00-1:15
Science on Nov 13 and 20?
(no science on November 6 due to REACH 4-H)

Saturday, November 22 – International Fair (with Food!) This will be one of three events this year held on a Saturday to allow the non-stay-at-home-parent to join in the fun. Also a great opportunity to invite Grandparents or other friends and relatives.

December 4, REACH 4-H

January 8, REACH 4-H

January 15, 22, & 29, February 4, 12, & 19 – Drama and Mask making with a production of 4 Aesop’s Fables (2 familiar, 2 lesser known ones). This will also include some literature elements. Fun for all ages and something for all ages to do. The kids will be the characters, the sets, and the props!
No other classes as this will take a longer time period.

February 5 – REACH 4-H

February 21 – Showtime

March 5 – REACH 4-H

March 12, 19, 26, April 2, 9, 23 – Family Tree/ Planting & growing things Details to be worked out, will involve science along with the family tree/genealogy stuff

April 25 – Family Tree Fair

May 7 – REACH 4-H
